EVA Pad Soft – 6 mm
 
Extremely soft and adaptive pad for sensitive hooves
 
Flex EVA Pad Soft is an extremely soft EVA pad that adapts to the hoof and the inside of the boot in a unique way. In use, the pad behaves dynamically: as the hoof loads onto it, the material compresses to a very thin layer beneath the hoof wall, while remaining springy and filling where cushioning and protection are most needed – especially under the sole and within the frog grooves.
 
Due to its softness, the pad also rises up along the boot walls where space allows and settles into the tread pattern of the boot’s inner sole. This allows it to act as a sealing element between the hoof and the boot, improving overall fit and helping to keep both the pad and the hoof securely in place during use.
 
When is EVA Pad Soft a good choice?
EVA Pad Soft is particularly well suited for lightweight horses and ponies whose hooves or soles benefit from a soft, adaptive material. It is an excellent choice for sensitive or thin soles, as well as during transition and rehabilitation phases. Thanks to its 6 mm thickness, the pad can also be used to fine-tune boot fit, for example when the hoof is between sizes, the hoof shape differs slightly from the boot sole, or the horse is in a transition phase. Due to its extreme softness, EVA Pad Soft requires careful hoof maintenance. Hooves should be maintained with regular trimming, ideally on a weekly basis, and all sharp edges must be carefully removed. If hoof maintenance is neglected, the pad may wear out quickly or become damaged prematurely.
 
When fitting boots with pads, always ensure that the toe of the hoof is fully seated into the toe of the boot. During use, the pad may shift forward into the toe area; if excess material accumulates at the toe, it should be trimmed away so it does not interfere with the natural breakover point.
 
The pad should be rinsed with warm water after each use to help the material retain its springiness and performance.
 
Due to its softness, EVA Pad Soft has a shorter lifespan than firmer pads, but when used correctly it has provided significant benefit to many lightweight horses and ponies.
