SPANISH SADDLE PADS
The Mattes Spanish saddle pads are ideal for Hidalgo Saddles and the best pads for Spanish saddles in general. Choose from a reliable cotton/polyester quilted fabric or soft velvet for the top material, and combine it with well-shaped, high-quality lambskin to achieve optimal pressure distribution and maximum riding comfort.
Available in Regular or Baroque versions. The addition of quality piping enhances the elegance of the Baroque pads.
ENGLISH SADDLE PADS
Mattes English saddle pads and numnahs are available with or without lambskin, offering first-class comfort and functionality for all types of English saddles.
These pads are anatomically shaped with a SPINEFREE® design and lambskin can be added to the panel area for your horse's comfort. Real lambskin has many benefits: it distributes pressure, reduces friction and balances temperature regulation throughout the year. It is one of the best materials to use against a horse’s back.
Adding the CORRECTION® system will allow for easy adjustments to get an optimal saddle fit at all times if your horse is prone to changing shape or lacking topline.
Mattes pads are easy to care for; they can be washed in the washing machine, and products with lambskin included will come with a small bottle of Mattes’ own specific wool detergent.

HALF PADS
Mattes half pads are available in the same materials and colour options as all the Mattes pads, so you can match your half pad perfectly, without compromising on quality or comfort.
Choose from a dressage cut, jump cut or other half pad styles, depending on what saddle pad you use with the half pad.
TREELESS SADDLE PADS
Created to provide a proper seat in treeless saddles, these pads absorb shocks, alleviate pressure, and allow the spine to move freely with the SPINEFREE® system.
ENDURANCE SADDLE PADS
Well-proportioned, sturdy pads designed for all endurance saddles. Our recommendation is the version with a crescent-shaped lambskin under the panels and down the shoulders.
The Mattes endurance saddle pads are available in both western and English styles with various colour options.
ICELANDIC SADDLE PADS
Specifically designed for Icelandic saddles, the Mattes Icelandic saddle pads are also available in several exciting colour options and materials.
The top material can be a long-lasting cotton/polyester quilted fabric or soft velvet, and you can combine it with Mattes’ signature well-shaped, soft lambskin in your favourite colour to achieve optimal pressure distribution and maximum riding comfort.
WESTERN SADDLE PADS
Mattes western saddle pads are extremely durable. In addition to offering multiple shape and design options, the western pads come with wear leathers made from high-quality, abrasion-resistant leather to ensure longevity.
All Mattes western pads can integrate the CORRECTION® system with up to four pockets on each side.
Grandeur Physio pads are made from the highest quality materials with a high wither, anatomical shape. They are one of the best saddle pads on the market for horses across most disciplines.
The two halves of the pad are connected via an "Air-co" strip for ventilation and a perfect position on the horse's back. Adhesive material on the top third of the pad ensures they will never slip, so if you're looking for a non slip saddle pad, this is it.
Do you need a corrective saddle pad? Grandeur saddle pads have two full length, easy to fill pockets on both sides, and are lined with high quality pressure and temperature regulating fleece.

ULTIMATE COMFORT FOR YOUR HORSE
Grandeur pads can be ordered in Spanish, Dressage, Jumping and Western shapes. Half pads are also available.
The pads are available in many colours, two different materials (cotton blend or microfibre) and two different quilting patterns.
Inserts are sold separately, and are available in 6mm foam rubber, 12mm foam rubber, and 10mm felt.

HIGH QUALITY SADDLE PADS
Grandeur Physio pads are extremely hardwearing, high-quality shim pads manufactured in Germany for many years.
We recommend a good quality shim pad for most horses because the leather tree works best when used as a system with the correct saddle pad. These pads are designed to support the effectiveness of the saddle in distributing the rider weight, and they offer extra comfort and shock absorption.
The saddle pad is also used to fine tune the balance of the saddle if adjusting the position of the saddle panels doesn’t quite get us there. If a horse has muscle atrophy, adding some shims is important to build up what they are lacking until they develop more.
If you would prefer to use your existing saddle pad, or a Mattes pad under your Hidalgo saddle, the Grandeur pads come in a “half-pad” version that can be placed over the top of any normal non-fleece saddle pad. Otherwise, you can choose the full pad and use it on its own.
The pads have various shim options, our favourite is the felt shim!
PAD CONSTRUCTION
The Grandeur Physio pad has 2 full length pockets on both sides, allowing great flexibility in getting the correct shim system for any horse. The pockets are super easy to fill as all the pockets open along the spine.
The Air-co is a strong mesh strip along the spine which connects the two halves of the pad. It allows excellent airflow and keeps all pressure off the spine.
The adhesive surface on the upper front third of the pad ensures the pad stays in place under the saddle – this pad will NOT move or pull down over the withers!
The Pocket Pad is a simple fuss free solution when you want a shim but not the bulk of a thick pad.
They are made from hardwearing cotton drill and have various colour options for the cotton and binding.
Easy to fill, reversible, machine washable and they pair perfectly with a Mattes sheepskin pad.
